蔓烏頭是毛茛科草本植物，為台灣特有種，分布於中央山脈中海拔山區林緣或路邊，每當夏天您上山時，可以看看路旁迎風搖曳的紫花，仔細觀察，頂上呈頭盔狀的是萼片。 Perennial scandent herbs, pubescent. Leaves simple, palmately divided, 5-partite. Stamens numerous; filaments winged at base, sparsely pubescent. Follicles 2-4; seeds many, with membranaceous wings on the surface. Endemic to Taiwan, in woods and on slopes between 1,700 and 2,400 m in the central mountains.
